Connecticut Secretary of State Corporation Name Search

Search the Connecticut business database, nicknamed C.O.N.C.O.R.D, which allows for an individual to lookup an entity whether it be a corporation, LLC, or a type of partnership by name. The name should be as specific as possible as to narrow the results as much as possible in order to find the entity desired.

How to Search

Step 1 РGo to This WebPage and in the first (1st) blank field enter the name of the entity. Make sure to add an asterisk (*) at the end of your search query.

Step 2 – On the record listings page you will be able to view all matching business names to what you entered. If there are too many then you may have to go back and enter more specific text to narrow the results. On this page you will view the entities in a table grid-like format showing the business: name, identification¬†number, status (forfeited, dissolved, merged, active, etc.), and it’s address.

Click on the business name in the blue underlined font (link) to get the full details that are public and on file with the Secretary of State.

Step 3 – On the entity details card the following is available for viewing the business: official/legal name, State of incorporation, last reported filing year, type, status, date of registration, business/mailing address, prinicpals/officers, and the registered agent (name, residence address, and business address).

The links on the bottom of the page allow for the viewing of all filing history, name history, and the ownership of shares/percentage.
