California Secretary of State Corporation Search

Search the California Secretary of State corporations on the State website (Kepler) by using the search database and entering either the name or number. After inputting the name of the business the database will forward you to choose from the matching results. If you see the listing you were trying to find click on it (the name) and you will be able to view the full details of the company. If there are too many you may have to go back and make your designation more specific.

How to Search

Step 1 – Go to This WebPage and click on the Corporation Name button. Then you will want to use the blank field below it to enter the name.



Step 2 – All available results will now be shown including the number of the entity (8 digits), filing date, status with the State, name, and the agent for the service of process (also known as the registered agent).

Click on the Entity Name to view the full details of the corporation.


Step 3 РThe State of California does not disclose a lot of information about the corporation such as the members, officials, or managers. Although, it does show the name, entity number, incorporation date, status with the State, mailing address, and the agent for service (registered agent) including their address.
